On
September 10, 1978, representatives from 3 churches gathered
at Open Door Baptist Church, Talisay, Negros Occidental, to
organize an Association to help the churches carry out the vision
of planting churches throughout the Philippines. The Association
became known as the Baptist Missionary Association of the Philippines.
From this small beginning, these three churches began fulfilling
the vision God entrusted to them. Throughout the years God has
extended our borders and increased our workforce in a great
and mighty way.
The
evidence that a church is alive is that she grows and reproduces
herself. The fruit of the church is not just her members, but
ANOTHER CHURCH! Pastors and church workers of the BMAP are busy
fulfilling this obligation. At the present time, Doyle Moore
works with slightly more than 120 churches and missions on seven
of the nine major islands of the Philippines.
The
Baptist Missionary Association is working toward planting churches
not only throughout the Philippines, but also throughout Asia.
The door is opening at this time, and it is evident that the
Lord is preparing the way for Filipinos to go into other countries
as working missionaries.
God
has given the BMA of the Philippines a dedicated force of pastors
and workers that have carried on the vision to establish a ministry
that covers 8 of the 9 major Island groups here in the Philippines.
These men and women have invested their lives in the ministry
to reach their people with the Gospel and they are the true
heroes of the BMAP ministry today.
Join
us as we celebrate the BMAP fulfilling her Vision to Plant Churches
throughout the Philippines.
